WHO WE ARE
The International Wine & Food Society (IW&FS) was established in the U.K. in 1933 by André Simon, and currently has about 7,000 members in 150 branches in over 40 countries.
The focus of the organization continues to be enjoying and learning about excellent food and wines, and the opportunity to connect with a community of like-minded members and wine makers globally. IW&FS remains the most prestigious, most wide spread, independent gastronomic society in the world. More information about the International IW&FS and branches can be found at www.iwfs.org
The IW&FS Toronto Branch was inaugurated in 1971 and is a non-profit corporation governed by an elected volunteer Board of Directors. The Toronto Branch is one of 8 branches across Canada. Membership includes an initiation fee and annual dues. More information is available on our web site at www.iwfstoronto.org
TASTINGS & DINNERS
IW&FS Toronto hosts innovative, educational and fun gastronomic events monthly. These events are usually held privately in existing or new outstanding restaurants with wine parings from our private cellar of over 900+ bottles.
Our ‘Cellar Master’ continuously adds new promising quality wines to our cellar that will be aged for future consumption.
Periodically renowned local and international vintners and winery owners are hosted at special events, with the opportunity to acquire their wines at special rates.
